Alone in the Park

Alone in the Park Here sit I on empty bench waiting for joy to find me. Adorned with lonely hours I've spent, My face reflects time's agony. It matters not, the sky, calm blue, The clouds soft slipping by, The sun, so shy, keeps peeping through To fade through teary eyes. Where are you now who promised me True, real love to the end? I look, I wait, I turn to see, But no where is my friend. So here sit I in this empty world, forsaken, forgotten, forlorn, Trying to forgive your fateful words Of faithful passion gone. I grieve, I weep, I yearn for sleep, But time just rolls on by Until the numbness o'er me creeps. No more tears left to cry. -P.S. Colley~
